Apologies for the amateurish-1990s nature of these pages, but I my ideas of a vast searchable database are rather expensive to set up online, especially when one has zero coding ability. However, I have added a search box near the top of most pages. Entering a location or loco number into the box should result in a list of all the pages where it can be found.
Each year’s page can be reached from this page – although they are also accessible independently by the urls. (Please scroll way down). The logic is quite simple with each year page having almost identical addresses.
If you add “spotting-records-1950s-60s-70s-80s” (without the quotes) after the last backslash in purple above, you should create the direct link to the spotters’ notes home page for bookmark purposes.
However, from September 2024 I have been creating a separate domain for b/w photos taken at stations/sheds/etc. The web address is very similar – http://www.spottinglogs.blog
I would like to give special thanks to Roger Walker of South Devon, who has typed out many, many pages of notes covering numerous years in order to email them to me. Without his efforts these pages would be much less diverse.
